Sonia obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree (B.A) majoring in Psychology from York University. During her undergraduate degree, she developed a profound interest in human behaviour, the law, and ultimately wanting to help people, which led her to law school. Sonia obtained her LLB with Honors from the University of Leicester, in England where she resided for 3 years. Upon returning home, she was Called to the Bar in the Province of Ontario.
Sonia volunteered at many legal clinics and law firms while sitting her licensing exams, ensuring she had a wide range of hands-on legal experience.
She worked in the capacity of a law student with a prestigious personal injury firm in Yorkville, but soon after developed a keen interest in Family Law after a close familial circumstance.
Sonia articled and went on to practice as an associate lawyer exclusively in Family Law, at a boutique law firm in downtown Brampton. Sonia’s focus in Family Law includes support issues, property division and high-conflict parenting disputes. She handles matters both in the Superior Court of Justice and Ontario Court of Justice, while aiming to settle matters outside of the court in a cost and time-efficient matter for her clients. Sonia understands that clients are often undergoing a great deal of stress, whether it be emotionally, physically, or financially, and as such, she strives to work with clients to navigate the Family Law process as smoothly, compassionately and as straightforward as possible.
In her downtime, Sonia loves to travel, cook for her friends and family, make use of her Cricut and craft, and cheer on her favourite Toronto sports teams and the Pittsburgh Steelers.
