Education
Aobedullah (“Obie”) Azizy earned his Honours Bachelor of Arts degree from Ontario Tech University, where he majored in Criminology and Justice Studies. He subsequently obtained his Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the University of Leicester.
While completing his legal studies, Obie discovered a particular interest in family law through his volunteer work with the Litigants in Person Project, where he assisted self-represented individuals navigating family law proceedings, amongst other areas of law. This experience reinforced his commitment to helping clients through some of life’s most challenging legal matters.
Experience
Obie completed his articles at a full-service law firm, gaining valuable experience in a variety of practice areas, including Family Law and Wills and Estates. Following his call to the Ontario Bar, he chose to focus exclusively on Family Law, practicing as an Associate at a family law firm in Whitby, Ontario, before joining Mahin Law.

Obie recognizes that every family law matter is unique and requires a tailored approach. He understands that family disputes often arise during some of the most emotional and uncertain periods in a person’s life and believes clients deserve both practical legal guidance and unwavering support throughout the process.

He approaches contentious matters with confidence, thorough preparation, and a results-driven mindset, ensuring his clients’ voices are heard and their rights are vigorously defended both inside and outside the courtroom.
Beyond The Courtroom
Outside of his legal practice, Obie enjoys spending quality time with his family. An avid outdoorsman, Obie enjoys exploring nature, discovering new destinations, and staying active whenever he can. He also enjoys trying new cuisines and seeking out new culinary experiences, whether at local restaurants or while travelling. When he is not spending time outdoors or looking for his next memorable meal, he can often be found cheering on the Toronto Maple Leafs as a dedicated lifelong fan, holding onto the optimism that every season could be the one that brings the Stanley Cup back to Toronto.
Obie is Fluent in English, Pashto, and Dari.
